Oil marketing companies have increased the price of bulk diesel by Rs 14.6 per litre as crude prices surge, affecting their margins.

Nayara Energy has raised pump prices of petrol and diesel by Rs 5 and Rs 3 per litre respectively, with petrol now selling at Rs 108 a litre in Haryana and diesel at Rs 98.84.

The price of bulk diesel reflects the actual market price of the fuel and is aligned directly with international product benchmarks.

Petroleum dealers said the substantial price difference between retail and bulk diesel has prompted some commercial and industrial customers to buy their supplies from retail outlets, leading to increased sales for oil companies but also incurring losses.
