Bunge and Associated British Ports (ABP) have reached a significant milestone at the Port of Immingham, handling over 1 MMT (one million metric tons) of grains and oilseeds through their agribulk storage and handling operations since partnering in 2022.

The partnership combines ABP's port infrastructure with Bunge's global sourcing, processing, merchandising, and logistics network to supply agricultural commodities to customers across the UK and connect local growers to global markets.

The collaboration began with the commissioning of Shed 35 in 2022, a purpose-built agribulk storage facility at Immingham's Humber International Terminal. Following strong demand, Bunge and ABP expanded the operation with the development of Shed 36, increasing the site's total storage capacity to approximately 75,000 t (tons) and creating one of the Humber region's largest agribulk handling hubs.

James Maw, UK Country Manager at Bunge, stated that 'the UK's agriculture sector depends on strong connections between producers, consumers, and international markets.' He highlighted that the terminal handles imports of essential feed ingredients, including certified sustainable PRO-S soya meal and sunflower meal, as well as exports of feed wheat, malting barley, beans, and rye.

Paul Litten, Head of Commercial (Humber) at ABP, added: 'Reaching the milestone of one million tonnes handled through our Humber International Terminal and Inner Dock for Bunge is a fantastic achievement and a testament to the strength of our longstanding partnership at the Port of Immingham.' He emphasized that they're proud to have supported Bunge's growth, providing deep-water facilities and expertise that helps keep supply chains moving.
