Canada Greenlights Tilbury Phase 2 LNG Expansion Project Amid Energy Security Concerns

The Canadian government has approved the Tilbury Phase 2 LNG Expansion Project in British Columbia, allowing FortisBC Holdings Inc. to expand its existing liquefied natural gas facility.

The project is expected to improve energy security and resilience in the Lower Mainland while creating employment and procurement opportunities in the region.

Minister of Environment, Climate Change and Nature Julie Dabrusin stated that the project demonstrates how Canada can achieve economic growth and environmental protection through a rigorous assessment process and Indigenous participation.
