Canadian Dollar and Crude Oil Prices See Modest Movement

The Canadian dollar held relatively steady on Thursday morning, trading at US$0.7133 or US$1=C$1.4019 as of 8:35 a.m. CDT.

This is compared to Wednesday's close of US$0.7130 or US$1=C$1.4026.

The United States Dollar Index was up 0.12 of a point at 99.79, indicating some movement in the currency market.

Crude oil prices also saw some gains after days of declines, with Brent crude oil gaining US$1.55 at US$81.00 per barrel and West Texas Intermediate rising by US$1.26 at US$76.08/barrel.
