Caturus, an American integrated gas and liquefied natural gas (LNG) company, has announced plans to nearly double its LNG export facility's capacity in Cameron Parish, Louisiana. The expansion project will add a 7.75 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) production line, bringing the site's total planned capacity to around 17.25 mtpa.

The Commonwealth LNG facility is currently under construction and expected to enter service in 2030, with approximately 8.5 mtpa of its 9.5 mtpa capacity already subscribed through long-term sale and purchase agreements (SPAs).

Caturus has confirmed that the base project's construction is progressing on schedule and safely. The company aims to utilize the engineering, procurement, and construction experience from the base project for the expansion, leveraging a proven modular construction methodology.
