Chennai Fuel Prices Hold Steady as Global Oil Costs Continue to Climb

The price of petrol and diesel in Chennai on August 23 remains unchanged at Rs 107.77 per litre for petrol and Rs 99.55 per litre for diesel.

This comes after a series of hikes since May 15, with the cumulative increase standing at nearly Rs 7.5 per litre.

The rise in fuel prices was triggered by global crude oil prices surging over 50% following US-Israeli strikes on Iran and disruptions to shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
