Chennai Gold Price Surges 43.92% in a Year, Reaches New High

The price of gold in Chennai increased by Rs 560 per sovereign on July 23. The current rate is now at Rs 1,08,000 per sovereign and Rs 13,500 per gram.

This significant increase comes after a hike of Rs 70 per gram from the previous day's rate.

On the other hand, silver prices remain unchanged, still being sold at Rs 245 per gram (Rs 2,45,000 per kg).

The gold price surge is substantial compared to last year. On July 23, 2025, the price of 22-carat gold was at Rs 75,040 per sovereign (Rs 9,380 per gram). This year's rate has seen a massive increase of Rs 32,960 or about 43.92%.
