Chennai Gold Price Surges to Rs 106,960 as Silver Remains Steady

On July 27, 2026, gold prices in Chennai rose by Rs 560 per sovereign. This brings the current price of 22-carat gold to Rs 1,06,960 per sovereign and Rs 13,370 per gram. The increase is attributed to a rise of Rs 70 per gram from the previous day.

Interestingly, silver prices remain unchanged at Rs 240 per gram (Rs 2,40,000 per kg) on July 27. Compared to last year, gold has seen significant growth, with prices surging by about 45.96% from Rs 73,280 per sovereign (Rs 9,160 per gram) on July 26, 2025.

The current gold price is the highest it has been in recent days. Over the last five days, gold prices have fluctuated as follows: July 25, 2026 - Rs 1,04,800 per sovereign (Rs 13,100 per gram), July 24, 2026 - Rs 1,05,840 per sovereign (Rs 13,230 per gram), July 23, 2026 - Rs 1,08,000 per sovereign (Rs 13,500 per gram), July 22, 2026 - Rs 1,07,440 per sovereign (Rs 13,430 per gram), and July 21, 2026 - Rs 1,05,360 per sovereign (Rs 13,170 per gram).
