Chennai Gold Prices Remain Steady on August 26

The price of gold in Chennai remained unchanged on August 26. The yellow metal is currently priced at Rs 1,20,080 per sovereign and Rs 15,010 per gram.

This marks a decrease of Rs 20 per gram from the previous day's prices.

Silver prices also remain stable, continuing to sell for Rs 265 per gram (Rs 2,65,000 per kg) on August 26.

Compared to last year, gold prices have increased significantly. On August 26, 2025, the price of 22-carat gold was Rs 74,680 per sovereign (Rs 9,335 per gram), but by August 26, 2026, it had risen to Rs 1,20,080 per sovereign (Rs 15,010 per gram), marking an increase of Rs 45,400 per sovereign or about 60.79 per cent.
