Chennai's gold and silver prices saw mixed movements in the latest MJDTA rate update on October 3, 2026. The 22K gold rate decreased by ₹100 per gram to ₹13,675, while 18K gold fell by ₹80 to ₹11,235 per gram. In contrast, 14K gold increased by ₹500 per gram to ₹8,950.

Silver prices remained unchanged at ₹245 per gram. The decrease in 22K and 18K gold rates can be attributed to fluctuations in international bullion prices, currency movements, market demand, and broader economic conditions.

Consumers are advised to check the latest gold and silver rates before visiting jewellery shops as the final jewellery price may also include GST, making charges, and other applicable costs.
