Chicago Board of Trade Sees Mixed Results Across Commodities
The Chicago Board of Trade reported mixed results for various commodities on Thursday, August 13. Corn futures took a hit, down 8 at $4.48 in September and $4.72 in December.
Soybean futures saw an increase of 2 cents to $11.67 in September, but November's price dropped by a quarter cent to $11.83.
Wheat futures also showed variation: September prices rose by half a cent to $6.53, while December prices fell by 1 cent to $6.68.
Live cattle futures declined significantly, with October down 350 at $220.30 and December down 310 at $219.70. Feeder cattle futures also dropped, September's price falling by 170 cents to $337.65 and October's price dropping by 105 cents to $329.35.
Wanstead Farmers Co-operative reported changes in crop prices: 2026 Crop Corn down 8 at $6.28/BU, 2027 Crop Corn down 6 at $6.12/BU, 2026 Crop Soybeans down 1 at $15.73/BU, and 2027 Crop Soybeans steady at $14.94/BU.
Great Lakes Grain in Mitchell also released its crop prices: 2026 Crop Corn down 8 at $6.12/BU, 2027 Crop Corn down 6 at $6.02/BU, 2026 Crop Soybeans down 1 at $15.42/BU, and 2027 Crop Soybeans steady at $14.83/BU.
Ontario Pork Reports noted the U-S CME price rising to $95.94 per hundredweight, dressed weight, up $0.10 from the previous day, with a 100% formula price of $242.70 per hundred kilograms, dressed weight, up $0.32.
