Colombo Bourse Ends Week Mixed Amid Middle East Volatility

The Colombo bourse ended the week on a mixed note due to market volatility driven by the situation in the Middle East, which affected global oil prices. The All Share Price Index (ASPI) dropped 30 points to close at 21,038, while the S&P SL20 gained two points to end at 5,941.

Turnover remained stable at an average daily Rs. 1.2 billion, with high net worth and institutional investor activity observed in select shares. Retail participation was minimal during the week.

Foreign investors continued to sell on the Colombo bourse, recording a net outflow of Rs. 214 million, pushing year-to-date net foreign sales to Rs. 57.1 billion. Investor interest was concentrated among conglomerates and export-oriented counters.
