ConocoPhillips and Venture Global ink 20-year LNG supply deal
ConocoPhillips and Venture Global have entered into a major long-term agreement for the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG). The deal, signed in October 2026, secures 1.0 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG for 20 years, beginning in 2030. This agreement reinforces the U.S.'s role as a key player in the global LNG market.
Mike Sabel, CEO of Venture Global, expressed pride in partnering with ConocoPhillips, highlighting the company's ability to deliver reliable and low-cost LNG. Venture Global, which started producing LNG from its first facility in 2022, has over 100 mtpa of capacity across various stages of production, construction, or development.
The company's first three projects, Calcasieu Pass, Plaquemines LNG, and CP2 LNG, are located in Louisiana. Venture Global is also developing carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) projects at each of its LNG facilities. This deal follows other significant agreements the company has secured this year, including partnerships with European energy firms like EnBW.
