Copper Prices Hit Record High as Hindustan Copper and Vedanta Soar
Copper prices have hit a record high of $14,533 a tonne, lifting copper stocks. This surge has put Hindustan Copper, Vedanta, NALCO, and Precision Wires in focus.
The benchmark copper on the London Metal Exchange surpassed its all-time peak of $14,527.50 set in January. The run-up in copper prices is primarily due to the prospect of shortages outside the US and speculative fund buying.
Analysts believe that the tariff uncertainty may be supporting copper prices, with rates remaining elevated until there is clarity. A softer US dollar has also supported base metals overall, with the Dollar Index down about 1% in the last month.
