Corn and Soybean Prices Plummet as Live Cattle Surges
The Chicago Board of Trade reported on September 23, 2026, that Corn Futures saw significant drops. December corn futures fell by 8 cents to $5.28 per bushel, while March corn futures also dropped by 8 cents to $5.43 per bushel. This decline marks a sharp fall for the crop.
Soybean Futures followed suit with November soybeans down 8 cents at $13.17 per bushel and January soybeans down 8 cents at $13.33 per bushel. Wheat Futures also saw a downturn, with December wheat down 10 cents to $7.07 per bushel and March wheat down 10 cents to $7.22 per bushel.
However, Live Cattle Futures experienced an increase, with October live cattle up 205 cents at $220.82 per hundredweight and December live cattle up 272 cents at $222.17 per hundredweight. Feeder Cattle Futures also rose, with October feeder cattle up 495 cents at $332.97 per hundredweight and November feeder cattle up 600 cents at $329.20 per hundredweight.
