Corn Holds Firm, Soybeans and Wheat Under Pressure
The US corn crop saw strength as it held firm technical support overnight, according to Pro Farmer's Ahead of the Open report. July 28.
Corn futures are expected to open 1-3 cents higher today, while soybeans and wheat are forecast to be lower by 4-6 cents and 3-5 cents respectively. Soybeans and wheat saw selling pressure overnight but had a bounce going into the break.
The USDA reported daily export sales of 197,272 MT of corn for delivery to unknown destinations during the 2026-27 marketing year. The US and Iran extended their pause in hostilities on Tuesday, with Oman's officials hoping to make an announcement signaling progress in the next few days.
The National Weather Service warned of a severe thunderstorm threat across the central High Plains today, capable of producing severe hail and locally strong wind gusts. Meanwhile, temperatures will remain above normal across portions of the northern Plains/Rockies with highs in the 90s.
