Crude oil prices rose on Friday as tensions between the US and Iran persisted. The October WTI crude oil (CLV26) closed up +0.23 (+0.26%) on Friday, with gasoline prices reaching a 3.5-week high.

The gains in crude oil were supported by President Trump's threats to crush Iran's economy, which dampened hopes of a resolution to the US-Iran war and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

However, comments from Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian limited gains when he said it would be better to end the war today, now that they are strong and have dignity, with the whole world acknowledging their victory.
