Crude Oil Retreats Amid Easing Supply Concerns
The price of crude oil has retreated from its recent highs as tensions in the Middle East remain unresolved. Despite ongoing concerns, market analysts point to a few signs that supply issues may be easing.
Saudi Arabia has increased Gulf crude loadings and begun restoring its East-West pipeline and Yanbu export operations. This development is being seen as a positive sign by investors who are also anticipating possible diplomatic progress between the U.S. and Iran.
Razan Hilal, a market analyst at StoneX Media, notes that momentum on both WTI and Brent crude benchmarks has rolled over from overbought territory last seen in 2026. The energy sector ETF has slipped back below an 18-year resistance level that capped higher highs from 2008 onward.
