Dana Gas Rejects KRG Allegations Over Gas Supply Dispute
Dana Gas and Crescent Petroleum have denied allegations made by the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) that they supplied gas to Iraq's Electricity Ministry without permission. The companies stated that they acted within their contractual rights and continued to meet all obligations, according to a statement released on August 7, 2026. They also noted that the KRG was aware of the gas sales agreement with the Iraqi ministry and had received a copy of the deal.
The Khor Mor field supplies natural gas to both the KRG for power stations and Iraq's Electricity Ministry in Kirkuk. The companies emphasized that they have invested over $4 billion in the region's energy sector since 2007, indicating their long-term commitment to the area.
