Dell's AI Server Surge Drives Wall Street Rebound Amid Easing Oil Prices
Wall Street rebounded from its previous session's decline on Wednesday, as oil prices and Treasury yields took a breather. The S&P 500 added 0.5% to close at 7,667.80 points, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq advanced 0.5% to end at 26,217.83 points.
The surge in Dell stock after the company's strong quarterly earnings helped boost markets. The company blew past profit expectations and comfortably beat revenue estimates, thanks to soaring demand for its artificial intelligence servers. Its AI server business booked an all-time high $60.9 billion in orders and brought in $16.4 billion in revenue.
A 3.2% rise in Nvidia also contributed to the market's gain. The company is reportedly in advanced talks to acquire Hugging Face, a dominant open-source AI platform, in a deal valued at approximately $14 billion.
