The gold and silver markets extended their rallies on Friday as concerns over U.S. dollar debasement grew.

The yield on the 10-year U.S. government bond reached its highest level in 20 months, despite the announcement that the U.S. would double its purchases of longer-term securities.

This move was seen as a sign of eroding confidence in the U.S. economy and its promissory notes, sparking rallies in gold, silver, and Bitcoin.

Gold futures closed at $4,661.60, up 1.89% on the day and more than 5% on the week.

Silver futures closed just above $69, gaining 2.09% on Friday and 6.46% on the week.

The biggest beneficiary of the dollar's weakness was Bitcoin, which surged $5,400 on the day and nearly $16,000 for the week.

Kevin Warsh will face a difficult challenge at the upcoming Jackson Hole Economic Symposium as he navigates the complex environment surrounding interest rates, inflation, and government borrowing costs.
