Domestic Gold Prices Soar, SJC Bars Reach Record Highs
Domestic gold prices have seen a sharp increase over the past year, with SJC gold bars reaching new highs. As of August 23, 2026, SJC gold bar prices ranged from 144.6-149.5 million VND/tael depending on the brand, up from last year's prices. This significant rise has helped buyers make a profit of about 18 to 21 million VND/tael.
The increase in SJC gold bar prices was observed across various businesses, including Phu Quy and DOJI. In Phu Quy, the buying price increased by 20 million VND/tael, while the selling price rose by 21 million VND/tael. This means that buyers from last year could have made a profit of about 18-19 million VND/tael.
Similarly, DOJI and Bao Tin Minh Chau recorded SJC gold bar prices increasing from 125.6-126.6 million VND/tael to 144.6-147.6 million VND/tael. The buying price increased by 19 million VND/tael, while the selling price rose by 21 million VND/tael.
Not only gold bars but also gold rings have seen a sharp increase in prices over the past year. Currently, popular brands range from 144.6-149.5 million VND/tael. DOJI recorded a significant increase, with the price of gold rings rising from 118.8-121.7 million VND/tael to 145.5-149.5 million VND/tael.
The international market has also influenced domestic gold prices, which have increased by about 36.6% in a year. However, the world gold market is currently fluctuating, and investors should be cautious not to follow the fear of missing opportunities (FOMO) when buying at high prices.
