Saudi Arabia was forced to shut down its East-West pipeline after drones launched from Iraq damaged it. The pipeline, also known as Petroline, runs over 1,200 kilometers and is a backup route for oil exports in case of disruptions at the Strait of Hormuz.

The attack on September 10 targeted multiple points along the pipeline, causing Saudi Arabia to shut down the line as a precaution. Injuries were reported, and technical teams are assessing the damage.

Oil prices surged after the news, with Brent crude closing at $104.61 per barrel, an 8.7% increase for the week.
