DT Midstream Expands Capacity as Regional Power Demand Surges
DT Midstream is moving forward with a phased expansion of its Midwestern Gas Transmission system as demand for natural gas surges across the region. Utilities, power generators, and data centers from Minnesota to New England are driving opportunities across nearly every asset in DT's portfolio.
The company is advancing a binding open season, which will allow it to secure additional capacity and meet growing demand. The expansion is expected to target late 2029, with the first phase of the MIST project scheduled for completion by that time.
DT Midstream's assets are seeing increased usage due to rising power demand. Nexus interconnects have added over 0.5 Bcf/d (billion cubic feet per day) of capacity, while Beacon has pulled Millennium toward additional capacity.
