East Coast Natural Gas Prices Plummet Amid Pipeline Outage
Natural gas spot prices declined across much of the East Coast in the latest weekly period, weighed down by a major pipeline outage that left supply stranded and pulled the national average lower.
The outage occurred on the TCO pipeline, which serves the eastern United States. The disruption had a significant impact on the region's natural gas market, leading to price drops across several key hubs, including Henry Hub.
The decline in prices was also influenced by fading heat demand, as temperatures cooled down after a recent spell of warmth. Additionally, a nor'easter impacted the East Coast, further contributing to the downward trend in natural gas prices.
