Egypt Accelerates Oil and Gas Production Efforts
Egypt's government is accelerating efforts to boost oil and gas production, investment in the sector, and improve services for citizens. Planning and Economic Development Minister Ahmed Rostom emphasized the petroleum sector's importance to the national economy, meeting domestic energy needs, and supporting various productive activities.
Rostom praised the sector's growth, citing a 22.4% increase in refining activity during the third quarter of FY2025/2026 and an 8.7% growth rate for the fiscal year as a whole.
Petroleum Minister Karim Badawi noted that crude oil production is returning to growth, and petroleum refining activity is expanding. He highlighted efforts to meet domestic needs, reduce imports, and increase investment in exploration and field development.
