EIA's Storage Report Falls Short in Boosting NYMEX Gas Futures

The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported an injection of 64 Bcf natural gas into storage for the week ended September 25. This result exceeded expectations, but left New York Mercantile Exchange gas futures without a catalyst to drive them forward.

The EIA's report showed that the surplus in natural gas storage narrowed, with some regions showing more significant reductions than others. The Midwest and East led the way in terms of regional performance.
