Enbridge Launches Open Season for West Texas Express Pipeline
Enbridge has launched a non-binding open season for its proposed West Texas Express pipeline system. The project aims to transport 2 Bcf/d of natural gas from the Permian Basin to El Paso, with an estimated startup date in late 2029.
The pipeline targets the growing takeaway capacity needs of the Permian Basin, where production is increasing rapidly. Enbridge's West Texas Express system will provide a new outlet for producers looking to export their gas to markets in the southwest United States.
The open season closes on September 25, and interested shippers can participate by submitting binding commitments during this period. The project has sparked interest among industry participants, with several parties already expressing their intentions to ship gas through the pipeline.
