Energocom Warns: Moldova's Natural Gas Tariffs May Rise Again

Eugeniu Buzatu, the head of Moldova's Energocom supplier, warns that natural gas tariffs may rise again. The company has secured its needs for the cold season, but international market fluctuations could lead to a new tariff increase after September 30.

Buzatu explained that the exact price for October will be determined on September 30, when the market closes, and the quotes have been fluctuating strongly in recent days. The current gap between purchase and sale prices is around 25 euros per MWh, resulting in a deficit.

According to Buzatu, the accumulated deviations so far amount to 180 million lei, and if this trend continues, it will be challenging to recover the losses.
