Energy Infrastructure Stocks Show Strong First Quarter Performance
Energy infrastructure companies had a strong start to the year, with many outperforming expectations. The eight infrastructure stocks tracked in the first quarter saw revenues beat analysts' estimates by an average of 12.9%. Share prices for these companies have remained steady, rising 3.7% on average since the latest earnings reports.
Golar LNG (GLNG) reported a significant revenue increase of 120% year over year, reaching $137.6 million. This exceeded analysts' expectations by 4.3%. Despite the strong performance, the stock has declined 10.6% since reporting, now trading at $49.74. Investors anticipated even better results than Wall Street's projections.
Calumet (CLMT) delivered the best quarter among its peers, with revenues up 40.8% year over year to $1.45 billion, surpassing estimates by 32%. The stock has surged 33.4% since the earnings report, currently trading at $55.89. On the other end, Kodiak Gas Services (KGS) reported a 21.1% revenue increase but missed earnings per share estimates, leading to a 5.4% drop in its stock price to $53.78.
Excelerate Energy (EE) saw a 61% year-over-year revenue increase to $329.3 million, beating estimates by 1.6%. However, its stock has fallen 11.4% since reporting, now trading at $34.12. DHT Holdings (DHT) achieved the fastest revenue growth among its peers, with a 174% year-over-year increase to $255.2 million, exceeding expectations by 4.8%. The stock has risen 33.8% since reporting, currently trading at $23.91.
