Engineers India Sees Opportunity in Middle East Infrastructure Projects
Engineers India Ltd is exploring business opportunities in the Middle East as a result of the ongoing conflict in the Strait of Hormuz. The state-run engineering and consultancy company has been discussing potential infrastructure projects with clients in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, including oil pipelines, terminals, and marine facilities.
Chairman Atul Gupta stated that despite a slowdown in order inflows from the region, the conflict has created new opportunities for Engineers India. The company currently has an order book worth ₹170 billion ($1.77 billion) and expects it to grow as conditions improve in the Middle East.
The UAE is planning additional underground oil storage facilities in Fujairah, while Engineers India opened a Saudi Arabia office in February and already operates a branch in the UAE.
