EOG Stock Sees Strong Rally as Company Surpasses Earnings Expectations
EOG Resources, Inc., the energy company behind EOG stock, has seen its shares rise by 14.8% in the past three months.
This increase is largely due to a strong second quarter performance, with adjusted earnings increasing by 118.5% to $5.07 per share and exceeding analyst expectations by 1.2%. Revenue rose by 57.4% to $8.62 billion, beating consensus estimates by 9.6%
Total production increased by 24.4%, reaching 1,410.4 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day (Mboe/d). Crude oil and condensate volumes rose by 8.8%, while their composite realized price increased by 51.4% to $98.15 per barrel.
The company's free cash flow has also been a significant factor in its growth, reaching $2.8 billion in the second quarter, up from $973 million in the same period last year. This allows EOG to fund development while maintaining shareholder distributions.
