Estonia Blocks Russian Grain Exports in Blow to Moscow's Supply Chain
Estonia has joined forces with Latvia and Lithuania to block Russian and Belarusian grain exports through their territories. On October 1, Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna announced that Estonia would no longer allow the transit of these countries' grain.
Tsahkna stated, 'Russia attacks Ukrainian ports, blocks Ukraine's grain exports, and then looks for new routes for its own grain.' He added, 'Estonia will not provide one.'
Russia has been struggling to ship out grain via the Black Sea due to Ukrainian drone attacks against Russian ports. As a result, it has had to rely on alternative routes, including Baltic ports and terminals in Latvia and Lithuania.
