European Gas Prices Plummet Amid Lower Storage Volumes and Heat Forecast

European natural gas prices have fallen significantly after details of Germany's latest gas storage tenders were released. The prices dropped 7% to €74 per megawatt-hour, marking the lowest level in two weeks.

The decline comes as Trading Hub Europe launched several tenders to secure sufficient gas availability for the first quarter of 2027. This move is a response to concerns over storage levels ahead of winter.

Additionally, weather forecasts indicate a late-summer heat spell next week, with temperatures in Northwest Europe expected to rise by around 6°C above normal. This could potentially reduce gas demand.
