Korea East-West Power (EWP) is expanding its direct-import LNG supply chain to strengthen energy security, according to an announcement on September 17. The company signed a master spot trading agreement and MOUs with three global natural gas suppliers at Gastech 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand.

The agreements include a master spot trading agreement (MSPA) for LNG spot transactions with SK Gas International, as well as MOUs on supply and demand cooperation with Glencore Singapore and PTT International Trading. The MSPA establishes general terms and conditions required for spot transactions in advance, allowing for quicker purchases in response to market conditions.

EWP plans to expand procurement cooperation with the global suppliers through information sharing and joint purchasing. In particular, the company will explore various forms of cooperation with PTT International Trading based on supply and demand conditions, including inventory management and seasonal volume exchanges.
