Farm Bureau Urges Diesel Price Relief for Struggling Farmers
Farmers and ranchers are facing record-high diesel costs, with the national average on-highway price reaching $6.38 per gallon.
American Farm Bureau Federation President Zippy Duvall has called on President Trump to provide relief by taking several steps, including a temporary suspension of the federal highway diesel tax.
The current federal highway diesel tax is more than 24 cents per gallon, while farm diesel in the heart of the Corn Belt has climbed to nearly $6 per gallon.
