Farmers Demand Stronger Proof of Performance From Biological Products
Biological products are gaining traction in U.S. agriculture, but farmers are becoming increasingly demanding about what earns a place in their crop programs.
A recent survey of 90 agricultural retailers, cooperatives, and manufacturers found that only 19% point to biologicals being too expensive as the biggest barrier to wider adoption, while 39% identify lack of trust in product performance.
The survey suggests that the next phase of growth may depend less on novelty and more on proving consistent agronomic and economic value. Biologicals are increasingly being evaluated alongside conventional crop protection and fertility tools in major U.S. row crops such as corn, soybeans, and wheat.
