Fed Decision Weighs on Gold, Silver Prices Ahead of Key Interest Rate Guidance
Gold and silver prices remained relatively steady in early trade on Wednesday, September 16, as investors awaited the US Federal Reserve's policy decision later that day.
Higher US Treasury yields and a firm dollar continued to weigh on bullion, while elevated crude oil prices kept inflation concerns in focus.
The COMEX gold price was at $4,329.30 an ounce, down $3.50 or 0.08% from the previous close of $4,333.50 an ounce.
Silver, however, rose 0.59% to $64.235 an ounce, against the previous close of $64.185 an ounce.
