FERC Grants Magnolia LNG Five-Year Extension Due to Project Delays

The Magnolia LNG export project in Louisiana has received an extension from federal regulators to complete construction and bring the facility into service. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) granted a five-year extension, setting a new deadline of April 2031.

This move is seen as a direct result of delays caused by the Biden-era project pause on liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports. The affiliate of Glenfarne Group, which owns the Magnolia LNG project, had requested the extension earlier this year.
