Fermi Taps NAES to Run Natural Gas Turbines at Texas Power Campus

Fermi Inc., operating as Fermi America, has partnered with NAES Corporation to operate and maintain its natural gas turbine fleet at Project Matador, a private-power campus in Carson County, Texas.

The agreement brings experienced crews and established management systems into the project, supporting plant reliability, operational safety, and uptime as the company prepares to deliver power to customers.

Fermi CEO Lee McIntire said the partnership adds an experienced operating partner with over 45 years of power-plant experience. The company has already secured its first customer, turbines, and engineering, procurement, and construction partners, while the NAES appointment supports commercial generation.

The latest development follows several milestones that have accelerated Project Matador's progress, including the selection of CBRE to operate and maintain its first data center at the campus. Fermi has also signed a binding lease agreement with TensorWave and entered into a build-own-operate-transfer (BOOT) strategic alliance with Hillcore Energy Capital Corporation for approximately 2.6 gigawatts of additional power capacity.
