Florida Gas Prices Drop 34 Cents in Nine Days
Florida drivers are finally catching a break at the gas pump, with prices dropping 34 cents per gallon over just nine days. According to AAA, the statewide average fell to $4.08 per gallon by Sunday, marking the lowest price in nearly a month. While this is a welcome relief, saving drivers about $5 to $7 per full tank compared to prices from just over a week ago, gas prices remain 13 cents higher than a month ago and $1.03 more expensive than at this time last year.
The decline in gas prices comes as crude oil prices have also dropped nearly 10% over the past two weeks. After peaking at over $100 per barrel in mid-September, crude oil settled at $91.11 on Friday, easing concerns about global fuel supplies. Despite the recent drop, regional variations in gas prices persist, with West Palm Beach-Boca Raton seeing the highest average at $4.28 per gallon, while Pensacola reported the lowest at $3.92.
AAA recommends that drivers looking to save on fuel can use the AAA mobile app to compare local prices, combine errands, check tire pressure, avoid aggressive driving, and consider fuel rewards programs.
