Gas prices in Florida have surged by 18 cents over the past week, reaching an average of $4.42 per gallon on Friday. This marks a significant increase since May and is partly attributed to oil price gains from the previous week.

According to Mark Jenkins, spokesman for AAA, The Auto Club Group, 'Gasoline prices bounced higher last week, in response to oil price gains the week before.'

The U.S. crude oil price has dropped by 8% to $92 a barrel from the previous week.

As a result, drivers are currently paying an average of $65 to fill their gas tank, up from $44 last year at this time.
