France has agreed to protect a key Saudi Arabian oil terminal from attacks by Yemen's Houthi militia, according to French President Emmanuel Macron. The military assistance will include 'soldiers, radars, and defence systems' to safeguard the site.

The Yanbu terminal is home to major oil storage and refining facilities, as well as the strategically important East-West Pipeline. This pipeline has a capacity of up to 7 million barrels per day and was shut down earlier this month due to attacks on it.

Macron emphasized that France's involvement is not intended to involve itself in any conflict, but rather to protect the site from further damage.
