Futures Rebound as LNG Demand and Power Needs Boost Natural Gas
Natural gas futures recovered some losses on Friday as stronger LNG feedgas and elevated power demand provided support, despite a cooler weather outlook and ample inventories tempering the market's upside.
The previous session saw storage-driven declines in natural gas prices, but a rebound occurred as LNG feedgas strengthened and power demand increased. However, a cooler weather forecast limited the potential for further gains.
Futures on the NYMEX exchange rose despite the factors weighing on the market. Feedgas to LNG terminals has been increasing, which is supporting natural gas prices. Elevated power demand also contributed to the rebound in futures.
