Gas Malaysia's Earnings Plummet 26.8% Amid Challenging Market Conditions

Gas Malaysia Bhd's (KL:GASMSIA) second-quarter earnings fell 26.8% year-over-year to RM72.53 million, primarily due to lower average natural gas contribution margin and higher costs.

The company attributed the weaker performance to a decline in average natural gas selling price, which was partly mitigated by a higher volume of natural gas sold.

In response to the challenging market conditions, Gas Malaysia will focus on enhancing operational efficiency, maintaining cost discipline, and strengthening its competitive position through its GM32 Transformation Programme.
