Gastech Shifts from Asia to US as Global Energy Landscape Evolves
The Gastech conference, a major global gas trade event, is shifting from Bangkok to Houston in September 2027. This symbolic handover marks a transition between Asia's rapidly growing energy demand and the US's expanding role as a global LNG supplier.
Thailand hosted Gastech 2026 in Bangkok, focusing on the demand side of the equation. The country emphasized strengthening energy security through diversified supply sources and expanded infrastructure to meet rising demand across Asia.
H.E. Mr Akanat Promphan, Thailand's Minister of Energy, highlighted the commercial activity generated by the event and called for a constructive approach to addressing the energy sector's challenges.
The handover brings greater focus to the supply side of the global market, with Houston becoming the new hub for Gastech 2027. The city is at the centre of the US oil and gas industry and its growing LNG export infrastructure.
