Georgia Gas Prices Surge Amid Global Oil Market Uncertainty
Gas prices in Georgia have risen to $3.79 per gallon as crude oil costs continue to increase. According to AAA, this is a statewide average that has climbed by 3 cents from last week and 7 cents from a month ago. The national average for regular gasoline has also increased, rising to $4.06 per gallon after a 5-cent jump in the past week.
The higher crude oil prices are attributed to ongoing uncertainty surrounding the war in the Middle East. Montrae Waiters, a spokesperson for AAA, The Auto Club Group, notes that drivers can save money by comparing prices and filling up where fuel costs less. Meanwhile, electric vehicle (EV) charging rates have hovered around 42 cents per kilowatt hour at commercial DC fast charging stations.
Cobb County residents are paying an average of $3.82 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline, while Atlanta has the highest average among Georgia metro markets at $3.83 per gallon. The least expensive metro markets are Catoosa-Dade-Walker at $3.67 and Rome at $3.70.
