Global Grain Markets Pause Ahead of Trump-Xi Talks
Grain markets paused ahead of highly anticipated talks between US President Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping. The meetings aim to advance trade negotiations, a key factor influencing global commodity prices.
Corn futures fell 6.25 cents to $5.36.75 in December contracts due in part to the strengthening US dollar index hitting a 2.5-month high.
USDA's crop condition index for corn declined by 1.69 points to 348.74, trailing year-ago levels at this time by 22.05 points. The soybean market also felt pressure from the strong dollar, with November contracts falling 2.50 cents to $13.25.50.
