Global Markets Under Pressure as DAX 40, AUD/USD and Copper Price Slide
Global markets are facing pressure as key assets continue to slide from recent highs. The DAX 40, AUD/USD and copper price have all seen significant declines, with the latter coming off its record high of $6.8181.
The DAX 40's decline has been steady since its August 26,618 record high, with a brief recovery rally that seems to have stalled at last week's 25,800 high. The index now appears likely to fall through the March-to-September uptrend line at 25,352, potentially pushing June-to-July lows of 24,697-to-24,548 into focus.
AUD/USD has also seen a sharp sell-off from its early September high of $0.7238, with the pair now trading below its 200-day simple moving average at $0.7020. This level may offer temporary support, but further declines could see the pair reach June and August lows of $0.6984-to-$0.6979.
Copper's price is also under pressure, having fallen from its record high of $6.8181. The metal currently finds support at May-to-June highs of $6.6367-to-$6.6328, but may face resistance if it breaks through the August-to-September highs of $6.6951-to-$6.8181.
