Gold Dips as Dollar Strengthens Amid Fed Rate Outlook

The price of gold slipped on Tuesday as the US dollar strengthened and investors turned their attention to the Federal Reserve's rate outlook following last week's hike.

At 09:58 ET (13:58 GMT), gold had fallen 0.2% to $4,337.42 an ounce, while gold futures declined 0.2% to $4,374.26 an ounce.

A sharp decline in oil prices over recent sessions has eased some inflation pressure, helping limit the drop in gold.

However, investors are now awaiting developments around potential talks between the U.S. and Iran at the United Nations General Assembly in New York this week, which could impact the market.
